Tender, juicy and flavorful vegan steak! Perfectly spiced and looking remarkably like the ‘real thing’ these vegan seitan steaks are deliciously textured, super high in protein and heaps of fun to make!
Ingredients
Broth:
2 Medium - Large Onion - Chopped
4-6 T. Olive Oil or Water
6 Cloves - Minced Garlic
12 Cups of vegetable broth
2 to 4 Cups water - less water more concentrated broth
1 to 1 1/5 Cups Bragg Liquid Aminos - less aminos less salty
Dough - Gluten:
1 cup gluten flour
1 teaspoon Vegan Beefy or Chicken like Seasoning
1 teaspoon WW flour
1/4 Cup Nutritional Yeast
1 1/3 Cup Water
Preparation
Step 1
Saute Onion, Garlic in Olive Oil in the 4-6 T of water, When Onion, garlic are translucent in color add the 12 Cups of vegetable broth and the 4 cups of Water and 1 1/2 Cup Braggs Liquid Aminos.
Step 2
Mix with fork and add more gluten flour or water to make a stretchy lump. If it falls apart it needs more gluten flour. Cut into steaks and stretch and put in boiling broth or cut into little chunks and add to boiling broth...
boil/simmer for 1 to 2 hr. [longer boiling time = more flavorful steaks]
